It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: He got into the Layabout business at a young age. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Gnomish companion (his 'brother'). When he grew older, he became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. He began work as a mercenary for hire. He would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

History: The child of a Fortune-teller, who enjoyed hunting, Nedda was taken on many hunting expeditions. Her parents enrolled her in a Paladin school at a young age so that she could practice her divine talents. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Fortune-teller. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Description: This man stands a little under 5'2" and is a bit bulky. He is very muscular particularly in the legs. He is wearing colorful clothing, dressed as a Banker. He has done his best to style his black hair to look like a famous performer. His blue eyes show the wear and tear of someone lonely with a great burden to carry.

Personality: He is a jovial happy person, but he is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. As long as the job gets done he does not care how it got done.

History: Gifted from a young age, Varis studied abroad. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.
