Personality: His tongue was cut out and he uses sign language. His actions favor neither the good nor the evil, as he answers to a power that mortal men fail to acknowledge.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. In his 19th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature shield.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

Motivation: She made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and marry her brother to traveling adventurers
