In her 13th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Shivering alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She was granted martial powers by her dying sister.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and she desires to right it; and several ex partners dislike her way of doing things and want revenge
