History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Marbas was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She found several beat up suits of armor and, cannibalizing spare parts, she put together a working one.

Motivation: She is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Dragonborns in the west were limited. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and he seems to be bored by most things

History: Born in the west to a Tanner, Daar learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She has worked as a Tanner like her mother before her.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and expand her business
