History: Heather was raised in a hard working conservative environment. In her 16th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. She found her mother impaled in their home, and her father beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He was a friend to animals and a trickster. In his defense of animals however he would do severe harm to people. He tends to his Shoemaker job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Shoemaker responsibilities is difficult; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

Personality: She is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before her hampering stammer kicks in. She lacks moral complications. She does what she is told to by employers but not much else. She spends her money on whatever she fancies at the time.

History: Merla was born in the east. At a young age she loved to build and create. Being born in the east, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her sons to still be retired.

Motivation: She has a rivalry with the Church that dominates her actions; and her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Takra was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Marshal. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature mace.
