Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Motivation: She is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs; and she has a rivalry with the church that dominates her actions

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Serpent was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. When the war came and ruined her parents she was left adrift. She was a hard woman then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.
