Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. After a long history of fighting, Grai and her spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: She swings through moods quickly. One moment she is cool and collected, the next she is carried away by passions. She does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for her. She lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: The child of northern immigrants she idolized her mother. Meriele liked to wander the woods near her home when she was young, something she still likes to do at least once a week. She never liked modest clothing or shoes, so she would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and she developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Personality: She is quiet and reserved most of the time, but warms up to people very quickly. Around friends she is liable to tell dirty jokes and enjoy herself. On top of that she is swayed by a pretty face, and while loyalty to her employer will always come first she doesn't like to hit women.

History: A child with a great deal of painting talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature sword.

History: Born in the south to a Navigator, Bhevek learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His childhood dream was to be a Sculptor, but he was a colossal failure. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Navigator responsibilities is difficult.
