History: He was born into a rich family. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Shepherd they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Layabout, and he later adopted a second daughter.

History: Born to a Layabout, her mother struggled to pay the bills. She took after her mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her mother taught her to defend herself. When her mother died while fighting gnolls, the young Vaina began to lead the lost caravan. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by gnolls. Vaina was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the gnolls.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Shepherd responsibilities is difficult; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg
