Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her sons to still be retired.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, River grew up listening to her father's many stories. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Dragonborn companion (her 'brother'). Lacking all sense, she decided to go on an adventure. She picked a direction and started trekking.

Motivation: Meet up once more with her childhood friend; and wants her loneliness to end

Personality: She is calm most of the time but flees social interaction. She plays an instrument quite well.

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered painting. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.
