History: She was born in a small plains village. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She hasn't been sleeping well lately.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. She was one of the best in her class, and was picked up by her current employer. She quickly showed her capability and was soon promoted to a head role. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many illithids want her driven away.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his mother. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Tieflings in Cairn's homeland. Cairn decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 14 years.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Painter responsibilities is difficult; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
