Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. His job bores him to no end. He has decided to make it more interesting.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. Patrin was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Patrin decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Personality: Eccentric and domineering, Melissa will drive conversation. She loves being with her children and actually smiles when they are around. She would do anything for them. She dislikes her ex a great deal.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. In her formative years she discovered how persuasive she was. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion; and to reunite with her old friends

Description: The dark-skinned man stands 5'6" and wears a custom-built plate barding that's adorned with yellow lining and desert motifs. His white hair is thinning but still full. His blue eyes show the wear and tear of someone lonely with a great burden to carry.

Personality: He will rave to anyone who will listen. He is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes him no end of embarrassment.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Ivellios grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Ivellios. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: A deep hatred of dire rats; and someone believes him a fraud

Description: This woman stands a little under 4'10" and is a bit bulky. She is very muscular particularly in the legs. She is dressed in earthy colors with a white and green handkerchief worn on her left side. Her black hair is cut short. Her eyes are brown and she is always smoking a pipe.

Personality: She is quiet and unassuming. She ignores others and carries on with her job unassumingly. Kabbarg is a bit of a follower. Usually she is manipulated by her sisters into helping them out, but recently she has become more of a free agent.

History: Kabbarg was born to in a poor docking district. She spent her early days working in the same smith shop her father was employed at, doing general labor. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She now owns her own business.

Motivation: She wants random interesting trinkets and junk, hates to throw anything away; and she'd like to take her coworkers down a peg
