The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. During his travels, Smoking and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Smoking discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Smoking fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

Personality: He is unhospitable to his core. His small house has "No trespassing" Signs all over it. He is fiercely devoted to his mother, and views his mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-sister.

History: Mugrunden hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Mugrunden grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Mugrunden. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found; and he will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. if successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact
