She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Locksmith they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Shoemaker, and she later adopted a second son.

Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by orcs. Pennie was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the orcs.

She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by giants. Quelenna was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the giants.
