One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Description: The man speaks with an almost imperceptible accent. He seems to always be the slightest bit damp as if he got out from a pool a few moments ago. He wears a brown costume with the symbols of his god on his torso. His black hair is slicked back into a classic pompadour. His face is feral with sharp distinguishing features. His spectacle hidden eyes are a deep gray.

Personality: He is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of his strength. He works very hard to maintain that gentleness. Gerard is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his brothers into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many dire rats want him driven away; and his religion dominates his actions

Description: 3'4" and muscular, this western man wears dull blue sweaters, loose white pants, and alligator leather shoes. Beneath his sweater he keeps a concealed halberd, just in case. His moppish golden hair is in a traditional bowl cut. His eyes are a pleasant hazel.

Personality: He loves justice and goodness and right action. Anyone who does not fulfill this criteria perfectly will no doubt get a lecture from him. He is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Gnome in existence. He is able to fit into much smaller and tighter spaces than normal.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and to find somewhere to settle down

History: Cockaby was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. A freak accident while working with his Seamstress father left him crippled. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: Seeks redemption; and balancing his hectic life and new crown-heir responsibilities is difficult
