History: Valanthe was raised in a hard working conservative environment. In her 14th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. She found her mother impaled in their home, and her father beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. After a long history of fighting, Valanthe and her spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: Cocky and sure of herself, she believes she is the best Scribe born in the past three hundred years. She is skeptical of what others tell her and is slow to trust.

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Scribe work with an outfit from a few towns over. Scribe work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She's also a talented Bellfounder, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: Born in the east to a Server, Lone learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He worked as a nervous Server and found it very stressful. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
