Through the years after Gargax was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Gargax's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Nicholas alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.
