He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Obtaining odd cultural Half-Elven artifacts is his passion; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs
