History: Born in the north to a Scribe, Gurdis learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. In her 15th year, her parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Gurdis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She now owns her own business.

Motivation: She feels threatened by others; and a deep hatred of brigands
