History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Howard was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Howard's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. His home and work are filled with various knick knacks he has acquired through the years. He cares a great deal for his adopted teenage daughter.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: Overbrimming with self-confidence, Shaena isn't afraid of most anything. She has a strong dislike to people who do not believe in Halfling unity. She has a hair trigger and will fly into rage over the tiniest perceived slights.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Shaena grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Shaena. As of late she has set up a hidden staging nest where she ambushes people she hires for escort.

History: Nala hails from a village terrorized by orcs. Nala was born on a far western mountains where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Detective. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.
