History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

History: She was born into a rich family. She has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to her frivolously. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.
