History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Shifting grew up listening to her father's many stories. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son. History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Cairn was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Cairn's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Jarana was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Barbarian, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Barbarian in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. Lacking all sense, she decided to go on an adventure. She picked a direction and started trekking.
