History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving River alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. History: She was born in the east, but her parents moved at a very young age to the west. She helped her mother out around the business and became quite the natural. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Scribe. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and she'd like to take her coworkers down a peg
