History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His parents were killed by giants in a raid when he was still a young child. The giants captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His religion dominates his actions; and he is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out

History: Her arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son. She has since married many spouses, only to have them die. She claims to not be responsible.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg; and balancing her hectic life and new ruler responsibilities is difficult
