History: She comes from a rich eastern family. After coming to the age of reason, Kava took it upon herself to study the martial arts in their entirety; because of this, she was labeled a dark omen and banished from her homeland. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Through the years after Ranala was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north.
