Personality: She cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with her opinion, she thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, she can get violently argumentative. She disdains her fellow westerners, claiming they make her look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Merla grew up listening to her mother's many stories. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage.
