Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Tieflings in Purah's homeland. Purah decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.
