History: He was born at the edge of vast desert. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. Some 8 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Varis never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Crown-heir. She's also a talented Carter, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Carlin grew up listening to her father's many stories. She helped her father out around the business and became quite the natural. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.
