He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. Some 8 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Direcris never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Body Guard. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
