His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and seeks redemption

History: She was born in the east. Through the years after Yurgunn was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east.
