History: The child of a Cook, who enjoyed hunting, Thorin was taken on many hunting expeditions. Thorin liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Heir to a fortune, her parents put a great deal of effort into curing her disease. Since her father passed away years ago, her mother had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the north. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he has decided he is irredeemable

History: Robert lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Gnomish activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Gnomish doctor. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of freemasons.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. A freak accident while working with his Ploughman father left him crippled. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.
