He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Bounty Hunter for hire.

She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.
