Personality: He is quite rude, and likes to deride his opponents skill and shout insults at them. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He has worked as a Bather like his mother before him.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Vani was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Description: He is scrawny and has patchy white stubble. He tends to wear a heavy leather apron. Coupled with his rolled up shirt sleeves this gives him a very relaxed look. He has a hunchback. His white hair is braided into rings. His silver eyes dart from person to person.

Personality: He is unhospitable to his core. His small house has "No trespassing" Signs all over it. A true patriot, Cairn would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: Cairn was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. He moved out north to avoid the crime he committed. Being a Merchant kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and sabotage a competitor

Personality: She thrives on attention. She does whatever is in her power to gain the attention of whomever she deems a fit date. She is obsessed with her god.

History: Gifted from a young age, Arava studied abroad. Her parents enrolled her in a Ranger school at a young age so that she could practice her divine talents. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: She is wracked by social anxiety; and her religion dominates her actions

Personality: She is shy and timid. She has not had much interaction with people and is skittish around them. She is susceptible to being scared and is in actuality easily frightened. She likes to tell stories.

History: Gifted from a young age, Verna studied abroad. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. By chance she met her brother recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Scribe and was forced into it by her family; and to reunite with her absent father
