History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Through the years after Kairon was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Kairon's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. She worked as a nervous Unemployed and found it very stressful. She tends to her Unemployed job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

Personality: While she is on the job, she is grim and serious. She understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. She is a thrill seeker, she laughs at people and throws down challenges. She is highly competitive and combative.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Like her mother and her brother before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Jeweler. Lacking all sense, she decided to go on an adventure. She picked a direction and started trekking.

Motivation: Retire the richest woman in the south; and she is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get her out

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Fortune-teller. She inherited the family business which she has now maintained for 12 years.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern.

Personality: He shows great sympathy to all travelers. He's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. He has a minor phobia of water and hates getting wet.

History: Gûnd was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Gûnd grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Gûnd. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Slave Trader.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Slave Trader responsibilities is difficult; and a rival would like him out of the picture
