History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Mayor arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Ostracized due to the necromantic powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Halflings became a terror of the countryside. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 8 years.

History: Born to a Stableman, her father struggled to pay the bills. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Nyx grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Nyx. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: She possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal; and she feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help
