Personality: He is witty, but his monotone delivery comes off as unnerving He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: A powerful wizard made him what he is. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Marbas alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the north; and revenge

History: Trained by her father for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. A freak accident while working with her Ploughman father left her crippled. After a long history of fighting, Ielenia and her spouse have recently divorced.
