History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. She is lazy and tries to find solutions quickly.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Cecily grew up listening to her father's many stories. Her arcane abilities were realized during a raid on her village. She is searching for what she claims is her rightful reward.

Motivation: She desires power and/or immortality; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of freemasons.

Personality: She is business-like. She takes instructions and follows them to the letter. She is lazy, self-centered, vain, and jealous.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to her current location. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.
