History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Nicholas was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg; and she has a rivalry with the church that dominates her actions
