His mother had died from a severe disease that was unknown to the village doctor. Ratak was heart-stricken from the event, and his father started working long hours to provde for them. History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her mother and father. Her mother taught her the rudiments of the Stylist arts, while her father instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She tends to her Stylist job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Gardain was orphaned to a temple shortly after his birth. He was raised by the temple staff to care always for others above himself and to hold his god always in his heart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: His religion dominates his actions.
