Personality: He is a Sage first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. He pushes his goals aggressively. He is also a coward if confronted.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Balam grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Balam. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Sage.

Personality: She dislikes all the random violence that takes place in the west. She can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Born in the west to a Scribe, Maiathah learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She now owns her own business.

Personality: She has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor. She is not one for noise or eating so much, which is in direct contrast with her big mouthed big gutted partner. Her partner is her best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. She works hard and plays hard.

History: She is a Hag in disguise. Her family was turned out during the war. She and her family wandered east to less war torn lands. She became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.
