History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Through the years after Gerbo was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Gerbo's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. Some 9 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son.
