It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: When she was but 8 years old her parents immigrated from the south. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

Personality: She has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Spice Merchant who has hired her part-time. She also has developed a complete distrust of the Butcher profession.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. From her teen years she was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on her. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Butcher. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg; and revenge

Personality: He is mildly Tabaxi supremacist, though he does not identify as such. He is afraid of women and trembles around them

History: Shadow was born in the south. At a young age he loved to build and create. His father was a mechanic, and taught him how to fix just about anything. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Half-Elven people.

Personality: She is not truly malevolent, but she is obsessed with painting. She constantly tries to fill her life with painting. She loves being with her children and actually smiles when they are around. She would do anything for them. She dislikes her ex a great deal.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Her father worked until she suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. She had to support her now crippled father and took her father's old job. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: She wants to meet her childhood hero; and to reunite with her old friends
