In his 18th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Wants his loneliness to end; and he feels threatened by others

Personality: He is a melancholic, but persistent worker. He resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. He also has developed a complete distrust of the Stableman profession.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Alex grew up listening to his father's many stories. He worked as a nervous Carter and found it very stressful. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Thorin embodies much of what other species detest in the Dwarves. He plays an instrument quite well.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. Through the years after Thorin was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Thorin's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Thorin and his spouse have recently divorced.
