History: The child of a Navigator, who enjoyed hunting, Therai was taken on many hunting expeditions. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Therai grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Therai. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

History: She was born on a small isolated farm. She took after her father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her father taught her to defend herself. When her father died while fighting drow, the young Smoking began to lead the lost caravan. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Revenge; and several ex partners dislike her way of doing things and want revenge

History: Born to a Mortician, her mother struggled to pay the bills. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. In his journeys he found a malevolent artifact. He wishes to return this artifact and its corrupting influence back to where it came.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and meet up once more with his childhood friend
