History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his father. His arcane abilities were realized during a raid on his village. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Personality: She is almost excessively polite to everyone, even when angry. Despite her manner, she is extremely passionate and proud of her job, and she prides herself in being thorough and never missing a detail.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Her mother was a soldier and died while she was still young. Pyra was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Sage responsibilities is difficult; and she is unsatisfied with her job

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. She has since married many spouses, only to have them die. She claims to not be responsible.

Motivation: Retire the richest woman in the south; and she desires power and/or immortality

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he has money and likes to spend it
