Personality: His tongue was cut out and he uses sign language. He is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: Born in the north to a Merchant, Shane learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He now owns his own business.

Personality: She is very quiet and rarely speaks above a whisper. Despite her manner, she is extremely passionate and proud of her job, and she prides herself in being thorough and never missing a detail.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her father. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Astaro was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: He is highly sensitive about his name. He loathes it, but will not take any guff about it from anyone. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Carter but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: Tod lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His first spouse was a Animal Trainer, they had one son, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Carter and was forced into it by his family; and wants to raise his children well
