Personality: He is extraordinarily eccentric. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Baern is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. In his 19th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Cocky and sure of herself, she believes she is the best Tanner born in the past three hundred years. She is an amazing painter.

History: Born in the west to a Tanner, Grai learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. Brilliant and gifted she never wanted to apply herself. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: He is not truly malevolent, but he is obsessed with singing. He constantly tries to fill his life with singing. He is afraid of women and trembles around them

History: He was born at the edge of vast desert. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Description: The light-skinned woman stands 5'0" and wears tight fighting clothing, which leaves very little to the imagination. Her hair is chestnut and very short. Her eyes are hazel and catlike.

Personality: She is inclined to make off color jokes and interpret anything that could be construed as such as innuendo. She uses her nature as a weapon; she likes to lead opponents to think her in distress.

History: She was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever.
