History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Vondal was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and to end his boredom
