History: Bûbol hails from a village terrorized by brigands. Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, brigands burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying west to reunite his family. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: She was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Soapmaker for hire.

Motivation: To be a Guard again; and balancing her hectic life and new soapmaker responsibilities is difficult
