History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Ranala was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her mother was very strict, and drilled into her lessons on being the perfect lady. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
