History: He was born at the edge of vast desert. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it

History: He was born in the north. Like his mother and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Shoemaker. He became a Shoemaker soon after.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic man, Varis's first love is himself. His second love is also himself. He is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes him no end of embarrassment.

History: Varis was raised in a hard working conservative environment. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Fisher. He became a Fisher soon after.
